Ola Electric will introduce App Lock functionality in the upcoming MoveOS 2 OTA update.

Ola Electric will officially launch the Move OS2 software update for its electric scooters next week. Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola Electric, announced that the Move Os2 software update will be publicly launched on June 18 at the electric two-wheeler maker’s Ola Futurefactory during an event. This will be the first major over-the-air (OTA) update for the S1 Pro electric scooters after its launch in August last year. Ola previously said the software update would be available to customers starting this month. The Move OS2 software update will be available over-the-air for all electric scooters already shipped.

Aggarwal took to Twitter to announce, “General public event at Futurefactory next weekend (June 18/19)! Will welcome 200km challenge winners and other Ola Electric customers and supporters. Public launch of MoveOS 2 also on the same day.”

Ola Electric previously revealed that the new software update will enable some of the previously highlighted features that have been missing in its S1 and electric scooters so far. This is the first major over-the-air (OTA) update for the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters after their launch in August last year. Some of the features that will be added include Bluetooth connectivity, navigation and cruise control features.

When it launched, Ola promised some key features like Hill Hold Control and Hyper Mode in the S1 Pro electric scooters. Varun Dubey, marketing director at Ola Electric, had assured recently that most of these updates will be available before June this year.

Ola Electric had rolled out the first batches of S1 Pro electric scooters without some of the highlighted features. The electric two-wheeler maker had said the features would be added later in OTA updates. Several Ola Electric customers had complained about the software of some of the scooters already delivered.

Ola Electric has yet to share the full list of features that will be enabled in the upcoming OTA update.
