Apple released a new software update 15.1 for the HomePod and HomePod mini on Monday. The new update accompanies the release of the iOS 15.1 update.
The update brings Lossless Audio and Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio to HomePod models. Lossless audio is available on both the HomePod and HomePod mini, while Spatial Audio is available on the larger and now discontinued HomePod.
To turn on lossless audio and Dolby Atmos, open Home Settings, tap your profile, and then under Media, tap Apple Music. Then turn on Lossless Audio and Dolby Atmos. Please note that these options appear in the iOS 15.1 beta, but the HomePod 15.1 beta appears to be required to actually use the HomePod features.

- Open the Home app.
- Tap the home icon, which is located in the upper left corner of the app screen.
- If you have configured only one house, this will take you directly to the settings and you can skip to step 5. If you have configured multiple houses, press “House settings” on the sheet that appears. attach.
- Tap the house of your choice.
- Scroll down to “Software update. “
- Scroll down from the top of the iPhone or iPad screen to check for an update.
Once you have tapped “Software update”, You will see the current version of the HomePod software that is installed on your HomePod or HomePod mini. You can also turn off automatic updates if you want.
If an update is available, press the “Install” button to update your HomePod. If you have more than one HomePod or HomePod mini in your home, each one will be updated at the same time through this software update feature.
