Asus Zenfone 8 gets a new software update: here’s what’s new

Asus has released a new minor update, version, for the Zenfone 8 which optimizes system stability. The latest update is being rolled out to Japanese, Russian and global units of the smartphone with the model number “ZS590KS”.

The company is rolling out the update in batches, so it will reach a limited number of users today. If you have not yet received the update notification, check it manually by going to Phone settings> System> System updates.

The Asus Zenfone 8 will start receiving the Android 12 update from December 2021, the company confirmed last month.

The Asus Zenfone 8 features a 5.9-inch FHD + Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the Snapdragon 888 5G processor paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. UFS 3.1.

In terms of optics, the handset has a dual rear camera system housing a Sony IMX686 64MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a 12MP wide-angle lens with Dual PD autofocus. For selfies and video chats, you get a Sony IMX663 12MP sensor with Dual PDAF.

The Asus Zenfone 8 has a 4000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging which is supposed to deliver a 60% charge in 25 minutes. Connectivity features on board the phone include – WiFi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
