Altair Announces Release of Simulation 2022.1 Software Update

New features enable more efficient and sustainable product innovations and life cycles

TROY, Mich., September 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Altair (Nasdaq: ALTR), a global leader in computational science and artificial intelligence (AI), announced the latest updates to its simulation portfolio, Simulation 2022.1. These updates enable more efficient and innovative products by applying advanced simulation, cloud-based computing, and optimization for cleaner, more sustainable product life cycles. Simulation 2022.1 helps companies achieve their corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals, make better design decisions sooner, and brings the power of open source technology to users around the world.

Transforming sustainable product design

Simulation 2022.1 brings a variety of updates that enhance Altair’s sustainable product design capabilities. Updates from Altair Materials Data Center, OptiStruct, Multi-scale designer, HyperWorksand SimLab will help companies meet their lightweighting goals, design requirements, budget constraints, and regulatory requirements. These updates also strengthen Altair’s topology optimization, lightweighting, design certification, and high performance computing (HPC) capabilities, allowing users to save resources, increase workloads, and reduce project complexity when designing greener and more sustainable products.

Make more informed decisions sooner

Simulation 2022.1 also helps users apply simulation earlier in design lifecycles so they can reduce errors, save time and money, and access tools in a seamless, connected environment. In this update, improvements have been introduced to Inspired by Altaïr for an improved design creation and optimization experience, as well as updates to Altair SimSolid for lightning-fast simulation, design scenario review, and parametric modeling upgrades.

Additionally, this update expands Altair’s modeling and visualization capabilities. A new HyperWorks workflow streamlines the process of creating a reduced control model for early design optimization. Simulation 2022.1 enables users to simplify models and perform topology optimization with faster turnaround times, facilitating more design studies. The 2022.1 simulation also strengthens the interpretation of the model with 1D inflation capabilities.

Extend the power of open source technology

For more than 30 years, the world’s top industrial, research and development and education organizations have employed Altair Radioss to solve complex linear and non-linear engineering problems. Now Radioss is available as an open-source solver – called OpenRadioss – which will bring together a global community of experts and users to make the world a safer and greener place.

Additionally, Simulation 2022.1 brings additional open source updates. In Inspire’s new UI Designer toolkit, users can assemble designs with predefined objects, edit and save designs as skeleton Python code that can be further developed.

Finally, the latest update encourages users to take advantage of Altair Stock Exchangea collaborative forum where users can use shared spaces to refine models, find better scripts, optimize virtual workspaces and workflows, and more.
